Starehe is about KIDS, KIDS, KIDS and nothing else!
Our dedication is to see them develop in spite of their terrible beginnings in life.

Starehe was operated by Ron & LouDell Posein from Barrhead, Alberta who have just retired after 30 years in Tanzania! Rich & Carli Mittelstaedt have been the new directors for the past year!
Located in Mwanza, Tanzania on 7 acres of land (10 km east of the city).
The home's agricultural land comprises another approx 170 acres of prime land. This enables Starehe to grow all the rice needed to feed the children!
It is a faith based, non-denominational, organization governed by Christian principles.
Each child is provided with:
- a secure living environment

Besides these basic needs each child is loved and appreciated as a unique person and taught Godly values and principles.

The "Home" is operated solely on private donations from interested people and those who have visited Starehe to see it's operation.
Through positive re-inforcement Starehe endeavours to prepare each child to become a stable, productive citizen of Tanzania who will, in the future, help others less fortunate.
